Privacy, in plain words.
What this site does with your data, why, and what you can ask of us. Effective 8 October 2026.
Who is responsible
This site is run by Placeyard, 61 Greenpoint Ave #684, Brooklyn, NY 11222, United States. Placeyard is the controller for everything described here.
For any question about your data, write to hello@placeyard.com.
Visiting the site
The site is hosted by Vercel. To deliver a page and keep the site secure, Vercel processes server logs: your IP address, the time, the page you asked for and your browser type.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, ads or trackers. The fonts are served from this site, not from a third party.
We do not track you across other websites, so the site does not react to Do Not Track signals.
Booking a call
The booking calendar is provided by Cal.com. It loads only when you open it. From then on Cal.com receives your IP address and may store data in your browser to run the booking.
If you book, Cal.com processes what you enter (name, email address, your answers and the time you pick). The booking is saved in the Google Calendar of the founder you meet, and the call runs on Cal Video.
Legal basis: steps you ask for before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cal.com's own policy: cal.com/privacy
Messages, the free website evaluation and email
If you send a message, ask for a website evaluation or write to hello@placeyard.com, we use what you give us (name, email address, company, message, website address) only to answer you and to work with you. Our email runs on Google Workspace.
Legal basis: steps you ask for before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Giving us this data is voluntary. Without it we cannot answer you.
Who receives your data
Only the providers that run the site for us: Vercel (hosting), Cal.com (booking and video call) and Google (email and calendar). They process the data on our instructions.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not pass it on for advertising. Nothing here is decided by automated means.
Transfers outside the EU and the UK
Vercel, Cal.com and Google are based in the United States. Transfers rest on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, and on standard contractual clauses otherwise.
How long we keep it
Server logs: for the short period Vercel keeps them. Enquiries and bookings: for as long as we talk or work with you. An enquiry that leads to no work is deleted 12 months after the last contact. Contracts and invoices are kept for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, have it corrected or deleted, have its use restricted, receive it in a portable format, and object to its use. Write to hello@placeyard.com and a founder answers.
You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live. In Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at. In the UK it is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If the site starts to work differently, this page changes with it and gets a new date.
